Biography

Mary Corrigan (July 11, 1930 – August 28, 2010) taught in the Department of Theatre at UC San Diego from 1975-1995. She also taught at Balliol College Oxford, England (BADA) for 19 summers. She was the former Associate Director for University of California Education Abroad Program /UK/Ireland from 1989-1991. Mary was the recipient of Best Actress Award at The Old Globe Theatre in 1979. She had extensive acting experience, and conducted numerous Master Voice classes and workshops in Canada, Egypt, England, U.S., France.

Mary was one of four Founders of VASTA, the Voice and Speech Trainers Association. She coached and consulted on numerous theatre productions, published in VASTA journals and authored chapters in each of the following books and tapes: The Vocal Vision, The Complete Voice and Speech Workout (Applause Books), andThe Dancer's Handbook. She also narrated National Public Radio Tapes on Chopin and George Sand.
