Biography

Jonathan Saville was a member of the UC San Diego Literature faculty in the 1970s before joining the Department of Theatre. In addition to his scholarly publications, Dr. Saville wrote theatre, classical musical and art reviews for the San Diego Reader from 1972 to 2003. In the 1990s, Dr. Saville penned several original plays with strong, underlying philosophical platforms and allegories. A polyglot in countless languages including Latin and Greek, he has led many monthly book-reading clubs in La Jolla since his retirement.
