Biography

Megan Jacobs is the Marketing and Promotions Coordinator for the Theatre and Dance Department at the University of California, San Diego. She is also currently a Professional Ballet Dancer, Marketing Manager, and Co-Founder of the Diversity in Dance Scholarship Program at City Ballet of San DiegoIn her various roles, she has spearheaded marketing campaigns and special events, including the implementation of sensory-friendly performances for children with autism.

Megan is from Petaluma, CA where she received classical ballet training at North Coast Ballet California from Tamara Statkoun (former ballerina with Mikhailovsky Theatre). She later trained at San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Pacific Northwest Ballet (Seattle, WA) where she recieved a full-scholarship to attend the company's pre-professional program.

In her professional career at City Ballet of San Diego, Megan has danced various soloist and principal roles including 'Mercedes' in Don Quixote and 'Myrtha' in Giselle. She has also had the privilege to dance in twelve ballets by George Balanchine, "The Father of American Ballet" and Co-Founder of New York City Ballet. Her featured Balanchine works include 'Solo Girl' in Rubies, 'Dark Angel' in Serenade, 'Choleric' in The Four Temperaments, 'Embraceable You' in Who Cares?, ' 2nd Principal Pas de Deux' in Emeralds,  and ' Principal Pas de Deux ' in Agon.

Megan loves utilizing her many years of performance experience, degree in public relations, and extensive knowledge in marketing to promote UCSD's Theatre & Dance Department. Feel free to reach out!
