About the Show

Emma is an actress and Emma is an addict. When those two things become incompatible and Emma is no longer allowed to work, she ends up in rehab struggling to play the most difficult role she has ever taken on: herself. 
    
Centering a captivating, but unreliable protagonist, this vivid and vulnerable drama asks us to question the buffers that we place around ourselves to get through each day despite the myriad of horrors that make up our modern world.

About the Director

Kieran Becca is a California-based director and dramaturg. Their work has been produced at The Forum Collective, Cutting Ball Theater, Quantum Dragon Theater, FaultLine Theater, Fuse Theater, Dragon Theater,  Utopia Theater Project, and more. Kieran is a company member at the Oakland Theater Project, a -Kieran-Beccia.jpeg former Artistic Director of U.C. Santa Cruz’s Barnstorm Theater, a founding member of The Forum Collective, and a recipient of Theatre Bay Area’s TITAN Award.

Kieran has worked in Literary Management for the Bay Area Playwrights Festival, Parity Productions, and The Forum Collective. A fierce champion of new plays and living writers, they are drawn to plays that poke at the seams of our social fabric to expose contradictions and challenge entrenched bias.

As a Casting Director, Kieran has cast productions for many Bay Area theatres including San Francisco Playhouse, Aurora Theatre Company, and Panto in the Presidio. They received acclaim for SF Playhouse's 2023 production of A Chorus Line, which received numerous Critics’ Circle awards and was the first musical in nearly four decades to receive an Isadora Duncan dance award.
