Taylor Olson

Second-year MFA Lighting Design Student

Biography

Taylor Olson is a second-year MFA Lighting Design student. She grew up in San Diego after moving to the west coast in 2011. Taylor earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts in Design and Production specializing in lighting design, from California State University, Fullerton. She has experience working for Theatre, Dance, Opera, and Experiential Marketing Events. After moving back to San Diego, she focused on lighting design and assistant work. Taylor has collaborated with great organizations such as Fresh Congress, La Jolla Playhouse, Malashock Dance, and San Diego Dance Theater, as well as independent choreographers and artists from Southern California. She is currently the Production Manager and Resident Lighting Designer for Disco Riot, a San Diego Nonprofit organization that produces and supports innovative dance programming.
