Biography

Kenneth J. Ray is a New York-based actor and educator. As an actor, he completed his undergraduate training at Howard University under the mentorship of Emmy Winner Al Freeman Jr. and at The British American Drama Academy with John Barton and Fiona Shaw. He has enjoyed a wide range of diverse performance opportunities at regional theaters across the country, including The Kennedy Center. Prior to his studies at UCSD, Kenneth was a teaching artist for Lincoln Center Theatre and was on the faculty of Circle in the Square Theatre School and the American Academy of Dramatic Art. He also served as a master teaching artist with LEAP NYC, where he led the New York region of the Next Narrative and August Wilson Monologue Competitions. Kenneth is a member of MICHA, The Association for Theatre in Higher Education, and The August Wilson Society.
