Sound and Video Supervisor

Biography

Steve Negrete has been at home on the stage since the second grade. His debut performance as the titular character in Johnny Appleseed wowed countless elementary school audiences, and solidified his place in the world of live theatre.

From these humble beginnings, Steve eventually went on to study in the world-class Theatre and Dance Department at UCSD. In pursuit of his baccalaureate, Steve operated the sound board for The Labyrinth of Desire, which sent him climbing up his career path of sound and video.

Steve joined UCSD as a staff member after graduating in 2008. In addition to supporting the countless student-driven performances of the department, Steve has worked on the broadway-level productions of The La Jolla Playhouse. He has also traveled the country doing live musical events, taking on the roles of designer, engineer, and stage manager. Today, Steve is the Supervisor of the Sound/Video shop. In his spare time, he enjoys running self-written Dungeons and Dragons campaigns.
