Joel Fullerton

Production Carpenter


Joel Fullerton was born in San Diego, and grew up in a Navy family with repeated stints in Rhode Island. He studied theatre in high school at Coronado School of the Arts and traveled to NYU where he earned his BFA. It was there he started his interest in stage construction and began working in the undergraduate scene shop. He specialized in Shakespeare and studied abroad at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. After leaving NYC, regional theatre and acting, he worked at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles as Stage Supervisor for two years. While there he was also a carpenter at the Kirk Douglas Theatre. He then served as Technical Director of the Boston Court Theatre in Pasadena, CA. He joined the UCSD team in the Fall of 2017. He and his wife, Cassandra, live with their dogs, Piper and Ziggy, in South Park.
