About the Play |
Famed general Titus returns home from war mourning the loss of his 22 sons, only to find his government run by his mortal enemy. Shakespeare’s most barbarous play explores the dark side of humanity, the effects of moral and corporeal decay, and the absurdity of revenge. In this world, those who can learn to be cruel, survive. Those who can’t, perish. |
About the Director |
Joshua Kahan Brody is a third-year MFA director. UC San Diego credits: The Santa Barbarians; The Dybbuk; A Man, his Wife, and his Hat; June Moon (AD); Glass Menagerie (AD); Hedda Gabler (AD); Kasimir & Karoline (AD & actor). He also has served as the directing mentor of the Undergraduate New Play Festival. Other directing credits: Fourteen Flights (Award for Overall Excellence in Directing), Art of Attack (NY Fringe Festival); True West, Fuddy Meers, Henry IV, Our Lady of 121st Street, Jesus Hopped The ‘A’ Train (Yale University). Assistant directing credits: The Nightingale (dir. by Moisés Kaufman); The Homecoming (dir. by Daniel Sullivan); The Home Place (dir. by Joe Dowling); King of Shadows (dir. by Connie Grappo). Joshua enjoyed a brief, but delightful acting career earlier in his life.
