Biography

ERIC GEIGER studied dance as a merit scholarship student at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in New York City, received his B.F.A. from the San Diego Design Institute and his M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies in both Scenic Design and Dance from San Diego State University. Eric was a company member of the Bill T Jones/ Arnie Zane Dance Company in New York City, where he also taught company class, set company repertory and assisted Mr. Jones. He was also a company member of the Lyon Opera Ballet in France, Djazzex Modern Dance in the Netherlands, Joyce Trisler Dance Company in New York City, and V-TOL Dance in London. As a guest artist he has performed with ODC in San Francisco, San Diego Ballet, San Diego Dance Theatre, Lower Left, Allyson Green Dance, Gabriel Masson Dance, Yolande Snaith and imaGomoves, and Patricia Sandback and Dancers. In San Francisco, he facilitated movement workshops for The Medea Project, Theatre for Incarcerated Women, directed by Rhodessa Jones. As well as outreach work both nationally and internationally, Eric has been teaching various forms of dance and dance techniques within the community of San Diego since 1999. In 2000, he was the recipient of a San Diego Area Dance Alliance Tommy Award for best male performer. Eric has been the Associate Artistic Director of McCaleb Dance in San Diego since 1998, working in collaboration with Artistic Director Nancy McCaleb, where he has performed, choreographed, and designed sets and costumes for numerous works.
