ANDREI BOTH (MFA, Institute of Fine Arts, Bucharest, Rumania - Scenic Design Facutly) Head of Design. Has a 25-year international career and has designed sets for theatre, opera, television and film. He made his American debut in 1987 with Harold Pinter's The Birthday Party at the Guthrie Theatre, in Minneapolis, where he later designed Measure for Measure. Andrei continues to work both in the US and Europe. Recent designs include King Lear (Hungary); Ikebana (Pasadena Playhouse); Ubu Rock (American Repertory Theatre); Julius Caesar (Seattle Rep.); The Glass Menagerie (La Jolla Playhouse); Waiting for Godot (Classic Stage Company, New York); Oedipus Rex (Opera-International Bartok Festival, Switzerland); Our Country's Good (National Theatre Bucharest, director Andrei Serban); Chinese Defense, a feature film presented at The Berlin International Film Festival (1999); Waiting for Godot (Lyric Theatre, Belfast, Ireland), nominated for The Irish Times ESB Award for Best Design in the Irish Theatre in 1999. He was recently invited to teach a master class in production design/art direction, at The Norwegian Film School. |
