ALICIA RINCON (MFA, USIU School of Performing and Visual Arts) Dance Faculty. Associate Choreographer for the Patricia Rincon Dance Collective is the Director of the Dance Program at the San Diego City College Campus, and is also on the faculty of the dance program at UCSD. She received her BA and MFA in Dance and Choreography from United States International University's School of Performing and Visual Arts. Alicia is one of the original members of the company, a member of its 1983 European Tour and a resident choreographer since the company's inception. In 1982-83 she co-founded and co-directed her own professional jazz dance company. She has been artist-in-residence at the University of Illinois and at the CAHPERD Summer Workshop. She recently served as judge for Danz Arte coreografias, in Tijuana - a competition for young talented choreographers. Alicia recently returned from a sabbatical through Europe, working on her research about European methods of dance and its contributions to and differences from American dance. |
