BA in Theatre, Virginia Tech

Biography

Jackie Mullen is a second-year MFA stage management student. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre, with concentrations in Stage Management and Sound Engineering, as well as a minor in German. Jackie moved to New York City in the fall of 2013. She served as the Technical Director for the Center for Performance Research in Williamsburg, Brooklyn for two years, while also working as a freelance stage manager, technician, and technical director. Some of her favorite NYC credits include working for The Blue Man Group, Damage Dance Co., Chez Bushwick, Tinc, the New York Musical Theatre Festival, and at different venues including The Public Theatre, Lightbox, the Laurie Beechman Theatre, and Lincoln Center. Her capstone NYC project before moving to California for graduate school was stage managing a special dance performance by Jonah Bokaer for the Hennessy 250 exhibition at Lincoln Center. Jackie is also an ensemble member and production manager for a new ensemble theatre company called Critical Point Theatre, with many other talented Virginia Tech theatre alumni. She has stage managed two of their productions, A List of Irrational Fears for the 2014 NYC Frigid Festival, and When We Grow Up for the 2015 Capital Fringe Festival in DC. Jackie loves languages, and speaks fluent German, passable Latin, and poor French.
