the DANCE MINOR

The dance minor consists of courses which concentrate on the principles of composition and choreography, the history of dance, and the process of performance. Dancers receive extensive training in one or more idioms (ballet, modern dance, jazz dance, and musical theatre). The dancer's training also includes participation in compositional workshops and productions including historical and contemporary performance experiences. Students should consult
the dance adviser, if necessary, and submit their completed minor petition form to the undergraduate coordinator prior to their junior year. Minor courses may not be taken on a P/NP basis.
